Vascular Surgery is a sub-specialty of General Surgery. The Vascular Surgeon is trained in the diagnosis and management of diseases affecting blood vessels (arteries and veins). Examples include both open surgical and catheter-based treatment of clogged leg arteries and varicose veins.
